Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Felova (“Felova”, “we”, “us”) handles your information in the Felova mobile app (com.felova.app) and on this website. We built Felova to be a private, calm place to track your pet's health. This page sets out exactly what that means in practice, including the places where data does leave your device. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@felova.app.

In short. Felova is local-first: your pet profiles, health logs, medications, photos and vet report PDFs are stored on your device and we cannot see them. Two things do leave your device. Product analytics sends a limited set of pseudonymous usage events and is on by default. Cloud backup and sharing syncs your pet records to our hosting provider, and is off unless you create an account and turn it on. We do not use advertising SDKs, data brokers, attribution tools, or session recording, and we do not sell your data.

Who we are

The controller responsible for the processing described here is:

What data Felova stores

When you use the Felova app, you may create and store:

All of this content is created by you and is only as complete as you choose to make it. Please note that free-text notes can contain whatever you type into them, including information about yourself or other people, so treat those fields as you would any personal notebook.

How your data is handled

There are three separate paths, and they behave differently.

1. On your device (always on)

Felova is local-first. If you do not enable Cloud, your pet profiles, health tracking data, medications and dose logs, photos and generated vet report PDFs stay entirely on your device. This data is not uploaded to our servers, and we cannot access it, read it, or recover it for you.

If you back up your phone (for example, through your device manufacturer's or operating system's backup service), Felova's local data may be included in that backup, governed by that provider's own privacy terms, not by Felova.

2. Product analytics (on by default)

The app sends a limited set of predefined product events to PostHog, over a direct HTTPS integration with their European Union hosting. There is no advertising SDK, no attribution tool, and no session recording in the app.

What is collected:

What is never collected: your name, your email address, your pet's name, notes or any other free text, photos, medication details, your location, advertising identifiers, or device fingerprinting data.

An honest note on wording. Because of the install identifier, these events are pseudonymous rather than fully anonymous. We are not able to connect them to you by name, and we do not try to, but the identifier can link events from the same installation together, and data-protection law treats that as personal data. We would rather tell you that than call it “anonymous” and be imprecise. Resetting the app regenerates the identifier.

Analytics is used only to improve features, understand onboarding, and measure whether people keep using the app. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or tracking you across other services.

You can turn analytics off. There is an opt-out in the app's Settings. Switching it off stops further events being sent from your device.

3. Cloud backup and sharing (opt-in)

Cloud is off by default and only becomes active when you choose to create an account. Felova does not require an account to use the app.

When Cloud is enabled, the following is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase: your account information (including email address), pet profiles, health records, medications, tracking data, and dose logs.

Photos, generated PDFs, local settings and notifications are not synced. They remain on your device.

Cloud also enables sharing, so a second person, for example a partner, family member or co-owner, can help look after the same animal and see what has already been given. Sharing works through invite codes that expire, with access enforced on the server. You can revoke access, and removing your account removes the shared access along with it.

If you share a pet's records with someone else, please be aware that you are giving a real person access to real health information, and that you may take on your own responsibilities toward them and toward the animal's other carers.

Signing in

If you create an account, you can sign in with an email address. On Android, Google Sign-In is offered as an optional alternative identity provider. Using it is your choice; if you sign in with email instead, no data is exchanged with Google for that purpose.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We use a small number of service providers, who process data on our instructions:

We use no advertising SDKs, no data brokers, no attribution tools, and no session recording tools. We may disclose data where we are legally required to do so.

Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following:

Website and waitlist

This website (felova.app) is separate from the app. If you join our waitlist, we collect the email address you provide so we can send you launch updates and early-access news. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email. We also use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (PostHog, hosted on servers in the European Union) to understand overall site traffic. No cookies or other identifiers are stored on your device, events are not linked across visits, and this does not identify individual visitors.

Data retention and deletion

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to request access to your personal data, and to request that it be corrected, deleted, restricted or transferred to you. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including our product analytics, and you may withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these, email hello@felova.app. Note the practical limit described above: for local-only data we hold nothing to give you, and analytics events are not linked to an account, so we may not be able to identify which events are yours.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in the country where you live, work, or where you believe an infringement occurred.

App permissions

Felova requests internet and network state access, notification and alarm scheduling permissions so reminders can reach you, and optional camera access if you want to add photos of your pet. Felova does not request access to your location, your contacts, external storage, or an advertising identifier.

Children's privacy

Felova is intended for pet owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Felova evolves. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
